Connection Issues Troubleshooting Guide

"Roomba Cannot Connect Right Now"  "Unable to Connect"

This article will help you troubleshoot a connectivity issue where your robot previously worked in the app but is no longer showing connected. If your robot has never had a cloud connection, or if you have reset the robot and are reinstalling it as new, please visit this link for help Setting up your Wi-Fi Connected Robot with the iRobot® HOME App.

1. Make sure the robot has power

Are there any lights on the robot? Press the CLEAN button once on the robot to ensure it has power. If the robot does not light up or work manually, see "Why does my Roomba® or Braava® not turn on or charge properly?"  A dead/fully discharged robot won't connect to Wi-Fi.

2. Reconnect / Change Robot Wi-Fi

In the app, navigate to Product Settings > Wi-Fi Settings > select Reconnect or Change Product Wi-Fi. Enter your Wi-Fi password to re-establish the Wi-Fi connection to the robot. The robot should now be connected! We find this resolves the issue for most of our customers.

3. Reboot Everything

If all else fails, turn it off and back on again.

➤ Robot: Confirm that your robot is on the dock and charging. Perform a reboot by holding down the CLEAN button for about 20 seconds. You should hear a little tune. Then see if the connection can be established. You can visit this link if you wish to learn more about rebooting your robot.
➤ Router: Unplug your router for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Wait 2 minutes for the router to boot up again. Then see if the connection can be established.
➤ Device: Reboot your Phone/device, then try to connect the robot to the app again.
